Cathy Bollinger joined York County Community Foundation in February 2014 in the newly created position of Managing Director of Embracing Aging. In this role, she leads and manages all aspects of the Embracing Aging Initiative to make York County a great place age by expanding age-inclusive thinking and reducing barriers to aging well. She works closely with advisory committees and community partners to develop advocacy, strategic strategies, and desired outcomes to advance aging priorities. Cathy has more than 25 years of experience as a creative thinker who conceived and developed customized, results-oriented programs and services for diverse clients and audiences in both for-profit and non-profit settings.

She served as the Director of Diversity and Organizational development for the York Jewish Community Center where she conceived, developed, and facilitated award-winning workshops, training and programs to address personal biases and the impact of words and actions around those biases, reaching up to 23, 000 students and adults annually in schools, businesses, and organizations. She also conducted walk-through audits of buildings to measure whether the physical environment reflected the morals of the school, business, or organization and created assessments that measured how welcoming safe, and respected the people within the school, business, and organization feel.

Cathy also served in a variety of management positions at the The Pfaltzgraft Company, a 150 year old, $100 million manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of consumer products. While there , she was chosen to serve on a select team of 20 employees from among the 2,000 employee workforce to work closely with world-class consultants to re-engineer business processes with senior management; developing marketing strategies and exclusive products to grow the catalogue business; managing market research of new dinnerware patterns, consumer trends, and related business opportunities; and developing consumer events.

Cathy has held various leadership roles and engagement within the non -profit community including: Healthy York County Coalition, York County Food Alliance, Eat.Play. Breathe – York, Spring Grove Area Scholarship Foundation, Leadership York, Planned Parenthood of Central Pa, YWCA York/Hanover, York County Hispanic Coalition, Family Issues Roundtable, Dreamwrights Youth and Family Theater, and Junior Achievement.
